Biography

AMANDA L. REID, Founder & Principal Designer, has over a decade of experience in various levels of interior design services for commercial and residential projects. Prior to founding Mandarina Studio, she served for 8 years as Project Designer at James Barclay Associates (JBA), an architectural and interior design firm based in New York City. At JBA Amanda rapidly proved to be a strong leader and gifted designer which catapulted her to realize her dream of Mandarina Studio where she provides and implements the creative vision and design direction of the projects.

With a unique talent for the application of color, pattern, texture, scale and a fluent understanding of the principles of design, Amanda has cultivated a distinctly refined aesthetic that is thoughtfully applied to each project. An excellent communicator and listener, Amanda is respectful of the needs of her clients and approaches each project with enthusiasm and a commitment to total success.

As a LEED AP, Amanda possesses an expertise in sustainable design and a personal commitment to provide design recommendations that are mindful of our environment. She is engaged in an unyielding pursuit of design solutions that are not only attractive, appropriate and cost effective but also environmentally friendly.

Amanda completed her design training at The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. In addition, she studied art and architecture in London, England and Siena, Italy. Amanda also holds a degree in Communications with a minor in Business. She earned the NCIDQ Certificate No. 024503 and is a professional member of the IIDA.

Amanda is a native of New York and currently divides her time between Boston and New York City. She is a runner and avid traveler.
